Because we've just had Christmas and it's my birthday on Tuesday, I thought I had to post another Reader's Workshop tool. One of the things which the students really enjoyed when we first began was getting their own book mark. I had some old Pokemon ones which I shared with them, but this year I think I'll begin with some nice laminated ones which will last a little longer.
Something like these: Bookmarks (PDF)
You should be able to cut them out, stick front and back together and then laminate. Enjoy!

Thanks for the bookmarks! I found your blog through Twitter and will add it to my RSS feed. My birthday is Tuesday too.
Kim - I'm glad you like them. I'm always thrilled to find other people with late December birthdays!
Great bookmarks!
I'm a Primary Teacher-Librarian and I have names for each of our 5 table groups. This year I used quotes about reading that could be used with your bookmarks - Read to succeed, Blast off with Books, Readers are leaders, Switch on to reading and Reading takes you places.
Have a great birthday on Tuesday...
Kim :) (Another one!!)
Hi other Kim! It's amazing how much the students enjoy things like bookmarks - I find giving them one encourages them to read longer and more complex books
